The Nakayama Grand Jump

Jump at the price of Nakayama

With a basic allocation of more than €1,000,000 - plus a variable part determined according to the commitments made - the Nakayama Grand Jump is one of the most lavishly endowed Steeple-Chase horse races in the world, behind the Liverpool Grand National and its prize pool of £1,000,000. The competition is run on Japan's longest course in all disciplines and takes place at Nakayama Racecourse.

Characteristics of the race

Scheduled in mid-April, he sees horses 4 years old and older compete annually. This Grade I race takes place over a distance of 4,250 meters. The course is marked out with nearly 9 obstacles. Formerly reserved exclusively for Japanese horses, this horse race is now open to foreign horses. A peculiarity of this meeting is that the start is given with stalls.

It is also considered the most richly endowed obstacle race. In fact, to the basic prize pool of more than €1,000,000, of which the winner leaves with almost half, we must add a variable depending on the number of entries entered.
