Laurel Ridge Sport Horses is a California LLC specializing in importing attractive, talented, and reliable amateur-minded European Warmbloods for sale. While we hold our horses for sale, we add valuable training and prepare them for a long and successful show career on the American Hunter/Jumper circuit.
We offer only top European Warmblood Hunters and Jumpers for sale, and consistently import high quality German Hanoverian, Oldenburg, Westphalian, and French Selle Francais horses to America.
We have a well-developed professional network incorporating the best breeders as well as top jumper and dressage barns throughout Europe, giving us access to some of the finest undiscovered horses on the international market. It is our long-term relationship with horsemen like these that enables us to continue presenting horses to you at prices well below market value despite the ever increasing demand for top horses and the unfavorable exchange rate.
Laurel Ridge is not a consignment barn, and we only sell our own stock. Each horse is carefully selected with the idea that we may keep them for ourselves to show for years, so excellence is paramount. All of our horses are completely maintained, ridden, and owned by an Amateur rider, and they must have to have the type of mindset to achieve great success in the show ring without a professional program. We believe strongly enough in our horses to invest our own money in purchasing them, so you can feel confident doing so too.
We offer a wide range of sizes, types, ages, personalities, prices, and experience levels of horses for sale because we know that every buyer has different qualities which are important to them when shopping for a new horse. You can be sure that every one of our horses for sale is unique and has an individual strong point that sets it apart from the rest. All of our horses must be reliable and suitable for a junior or amateur, along with a superb character.
Our Vetting Process is Rigorous
Before purchase, our horses must pass their pre-purchase exam with two highly experienced veterinarians. We hire the best European veterinarians, familiar with US requirements and standards, to perform this rigorous pre-purchase exam on each horse. The vetting results, including flexion tests, a minimum of 26 x-rays, a blood health panel, drug screening, and pre-import tests are then submitted to our US vet for review and acceptance. These x-rays are kept on file, and are always made available to our buyers, along with full disclosure of our horses’ vet histories.
To limit the stress of the long journey from Europe, we work only with trusted and experienced horse shipping professionals to transport the new recruits to our facility in the United States, where they will start their American horse show careers and be offered for sale at our stable.
